The day is surely coming … but not yet

The day is surely coming … but not yet

a note from the JBUC Board

We understand that Dr Bonnie Henry has declared BC is now moving into Phase 2 with some loosening of restrictions. She has also suggested that faith groups can begin to gather again. However, on the advice of the Regional Council of the United Church here in BC and other provinces, we are considered to be in Phase 1 when it comes to reconvening in our church buildings given the size of our meeting spaces, the age of many in our congregation, and the on-going requirements for physical distancing.

Did You Ever Know You Were Your Hero?

Did You Ever Know You Were Your Hero?

a message from Suzanne Lawrence

The human Heart, our Heart, is large enough to hold whatever has threatened to destroy us. Over lifetimes and generations we have proven ourselves to be highly adaptive survivors.  Much to our dismay however, all these exquisite strategies have not brought us to the promised land. We lament and grieve our somewhat un-lived life. As we are now in a collective "wilderness experience", we are asked to return to the Heart. Together, with courage and earnestness we access the wellspring of resilience. With deep listening we follow as we are guided out of the desert and on to the hero's path..... stepping into the fullness of our lives.

Incredible Journeys

Incredible Journeys

Nightsongs

2 years ago today, Bev and I flew to Ireland. I’m about to open up my journal and retrace those days of my sabbatical leave -- one day at a time.

But for now, it’s another incredible journey, with an Irish connection, I want to share with you.
